Money

One aspect I enjoy the most in board games is the money. I really enjoy the effort that the artists put into it. Pay Day didn't disappoint with an individual cartoon portrait on each denomination.

Cards

There are two types of cards in the game, Deal cards and Post cards.

Here is a sampling of the cards and their types:

Moneygram is a Postcard that usually takes the form of a cost, in this case, a child's spending money. A bill is a straight forward cost. All the bill money goes into the jackpot square to be won by the next person to roll a 6. Advertisements are a bit of a nothing card as they don't cost anything. At least they have some amusement value, especially for kids. Post cards are like advertisements in that they don't cost anything and are a bit of fun to read. The last type of card is the Deal card. Deal cards are basically investment opportunities where you cant lose. You buy at the cost price and sell at the value when you land on a “fond a buyer” square. The only risk in buying a business or multiple businesses is not landing on enough “found a buyer” squares before the game is over. If you have deal cards at the end of the game then they are valueless.

Markers

The game comes with four markers and a die.

Payday Loan Record

The game also comes with a tear off pad to record the current state of any outstanding loans. Just like their namesake in the real world, payday loans have a huge monthly compound interest rate but unlike the real world, the game allows you to invest the money relatively risk free for a huge return in the form of Deal cards.
